Editorial team and editorial policy

Who writes the articles on the BakePilot blog, where our data comes from and what we do when we find a mistake or someone points one out.

Who writes

The articles are written by the founders of BakePilot, who have been running PyziPyzi, a craft pastry shop in Kalisz, Poland, since May 2018. Every article shows the author's name with a link to their page.

  • Kamila Kowalska - co-founder of bakepilot. She writes about hands-on pastry work: costing baked goods, celebration cakes, production planning, HACCP and Polish sanitary inspection requirements.
  • Patryk Kowalski - co-founder of bakepilot. He writes about the confectionery and bakery market, ingredient prices, pricing, running a business, technology and KSeF (the Polish e-invoicing system).

Where our data comes from

We take numbers and legal requirements from primary sources whenever they are available: Statistics Poland (GUS), legal acts, official market reports, industry organizations, registers and databases. We add a footnote to figures, leading to the list of sources at the end of the article, with the publisher, date and link. When we rely on a media report, we say whose data it is based on. Numbers that cannot be checked at the source are removed from the text.

We describe our own pastry shop experience as our own experience, and we publish the results of our surveys (for example of pastry shop owners in Poland) with a description of who was asked and when.

Types of articles

  • Market and research - current content: data on the confectionery and bakery market and survey results. We update it when new data comes out.
  • Guides - practical knowledge: costing, production planning, food safety rules, ingredient prices.

How we correct mistakes

Every article shows its publication date and the date of the last update. When we correct a mistake or add new data, we change the update date. You can report a mistake to kontakt@bakepilot.pl - we check every report. Comments are covered by the blog comment rules.

Content and information about our app

BakePilot is bakery and pastry shop management software that we build and sell ourselves. We do not publish sponsored articles or paid posts by other companies. Market articles are not advertising: the description of our app is separated from the analysis and marked with the heading "About BakePilot" at the end of the text. When a guide explains how to do something in BakePilot, we say clearly that it is our app.
